Reginald Edmund, is a 2009-2010, 2010-2011 Many Voices Fellow playwright originally from Houston, Texas, where he was Artistic Director for the Silver House Theatre, as well as the founder and producer for the Silver House Playwrights Festival and the Houston Urban Theatre Series. Reggie was the inaugural recipient of the Kennedy Center Fellowship at Soul Mountain Retreat as well as the 2009 National Runner-up for the Lorraine Hansberry and Rosa Parks Playwriting Award.

His nine play series that he is working on title The City of The Bayou Collection which include Redemption of Allah Black, Juneteenth Street, Southbridge, Last Cadillac, The Ordained Smile of Saint Sadie May Jenkins, Blood Moon, and White America have been developed at Karamu House Theatre, County Playhouse Theatre, Ensemble Theatre of Houston, the Playwrights' Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre Company and the Mid-American Theater Conference. He received his BFA in Theatre-Performance from Texas Southern University, and his MFA in playwriting at Ohio University under the guidance of Charles Smith. Recently, Reggie spent a month in residence at the MacDowell Colony working on The Ordained Smile of Saint Sadie May Jenkins, and consulted with dramaturg Liz Engelman during its further development and revision. His play Southbridge which was presented in May 2010 at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, AK, was named winner of the 2011 Southern Playwrights’ Competition. Reggie is also a co-founding Playwright of The Unit Collective, an independent group of theater artists of color that produces Minneapolis Madness, a monthly new work showcase at the Playwrights’ Center.
